We’re sad to share that Mirai.SO has announced it’s closure, for good. This means it will not re-appear or be reborn in the future.
Below is the post via the Mirai blog, written personally by Tybone10:
Over the past five years of me being part of this amazing community, I’ve learned so many new skills, met some really cool people, and created some of the best servers out there. I really loved being part of such a unique and talented community and I will never forget it. However, the time has come where I have grown away from creating Club Penguin Private Servers and must move on.
It was a very hard decision to make and I have thought about it over and over again for the past month. I’m writing this final blog post personally to thank each and every one of you, users and friends, for all of the crazy, fun and even not-so-fun experiences. It truly has taught me a lot and has given me skills I could not have gained otherwise. I’m very grateful for those who were kind to me when I first joined and didn’t know what “a PHP” was, and I’m even more grateful for those who stuck by me through thick and thin and continued to be there for me when I needed them most.
Over the years I’ve created numerous servers, some well-known and some not-so-well-known. Being part of this community and being able to develop for thousands of users really taught me a thing or two. I went from creating self-hosted CPPSes with 0 users online to bigger servers with over 300 online at times. I’ve met so many users along the way and I hope that they enjoyed the experience just as much as I did.
Moving on, as of today everyone on Mirai and all new accounts will have all of the store purchases for free so they can have unlimited fun in our final days (remember to try out our NPC Creator!). We will officially be closing our doors on May 15th, 2016. I’m very sorry to all of the users that have enjoyed Mirai and I hope we have given you enough time to find a new server to call home. Thank you to those that have played Mirai, whether you chose to stay or not, as you guys all have helped shape it to become what it is today.
With that being said, I do not want to leave this community without sharing some of the knowledge I’ve gained over the years. If you are a server developer, I am happy to post a tutorial on anything you would like, such as a how-to for a feature or a solution to a problem. Simply comment below or send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with your request. I hope to see many server developers taking advantage of this to for the benefit of your users.
Once again, thank you for everything throughout the last five years.
We’re sad to see Mirai leave our community.
