BREAKING NEWS: PENGUIN WORLD DATABASE BREACH
We bring you news just in of a recent database leak on the CPPS, Club Penguin Generations.
Another Kitsune CPPS has just faced a database leak, this time CP Generations. A note from the hacker, was left on the defaced explaining that the database has been breached, along with providing a download link.
The leak contains usernames, email addresses, and MD5 hashed passwords (which can easily be decrypted) belonging to 1821 user accounts.
ABOVE IS A SNIPPET OF THE LEAKED DATABASE.
We strongly urge anyone who registered on CP Gen to change your passwords elsewhere, if used to register on CP Gen. This is a further reminder to use a strong, unique password, on every CPPS you register on.
CP Generations are yet to release an official statement on the breach or remove the database download link from their website, we will keep you posted.
Update: A CP Generations representative has now released an official statement:
As of 11/05/17 we experienced a major DB breach.
That hacker’s name was “MasterHacks”, and people who do this obviously have nothing better to do.
We are working as hard as we can to get you CPG back.
We weren’t expecting this to happen, and we encourage you to change your passwords, if you use the same password as your CPG Account.
When we return, passwords will be more secure.
I sincerly apologise for this happening, and i hope you have a good weekend.
